A 13-year-old Russian teenager died in a Thailand boat accident after arguing with his father.
Lucas Bugorskiy, a 13-year-old Russian teenager, died after being struck by a propeller while arguing with his father, Artem Bugorskiy, 45, who was arrested for the death of his son. The incident occurred on January 22 in Phang Nga, Thailand.
Witnesses report that Artem grabbed his son Lucas and threw him from the bow into the water in what appeared to be a playful act, according to the Bangkok Post. The father jumped into the water to rescue his son, but it was too late.
The teenager suffered severe head and facial injuries caused by the boat’s propeller and was taken to the hospital, but did not survive.
Artem was arrested as soon as the boat docked. The Russian man told the police he had “lost his memory.” There were 17 Thais and 16 foreign tourists on the boat.
In an interview with local Thai TV, Artem claimed to have lost his memory. “Are you sad?” the reporter asked. “Who killed my son?” replied Artem, who denied killing Lucas.
